The Ministry of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Agricultural Development (Sepada) reported that 8 million gallons of milk are produced annually in Baja California Sur (BCS).
There are 285,000 head of cattle in the state, of which 35,000 are dairy cattle and the rest are beef cattle. Annually, the state moves around 40,000 calves per year to fattening plants in the city of Mexicali, Baja California.
The mid-peninsula supplies the local market with 6,000 tons, production that complies with sanitary requirements, derived from the campaigns that are permanently developed to keep cattle free of diseases such as brucellosis and bovine tuberculosis.
Training is being carried out in all municipalities and municipal delegations, as well as in municipal sub-delegations, structures that are interested in participating in animal health campaigns.
