BCS basketball player to compete in the U.S. and Cuba

The young Cabo San Lucas native will travel out of the country to compete in the second qualifying window for the world championship.

The Mexican Basketball Sports Association (Ademeba) revealed that the young player from Baja California Sur, Kohl Meyer and 13 other basketball players from the country will travel to the United States and Cuba, along with coach Omar Quintero, in preparation for the second qualifying window for the Mexican national team.

The list of those called up is as follows: Paul Stoll, Orlando Méndez, Kohl Meyer, Moisés Andriassi, José Estrada, Gabriel Girón, Víctor Valdés, Gael Bonilla, Irwin Ávalos, Fabián Jaimes, Jonathan Machado, Daniel Amigo, Israel Gutiérrez and Kelvin Jones.

Mexico is in first place in the qualifiers with a 2-0 record, after defeating Cuba and the United States; in view of this, the coach mentioned that “they are two complicated places”, but that he has full confidence in the players.

Finally, after the news was announced, dozens of sports fans and followers of the young South Californian, originally from Cabo San Lucas, shared messages of support and congratulations.
