Don Sanchez Restaurant and Chef Edgar Chavez were recognized by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences for their excellent cuisine, work ethic and exemplary service.
Los Cabos Mexico. On December 10th, Los Cabos-born chef received the International Five Star Diamond Award, which is the most important global recognition that can be given to a restaurant and which has previously been given to places like Le Meurice, by chef Alain Ducasse, or Market, by award-winning Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
“This catalogs the restaurant as a place that tourists should know and people who are living in San Jose and Cabo San Lucas, the mix of dishes at a very sophisticated level that makes it also unique, because it mixes the traditional with the avant-garde techniques of the Mexican concept.
This distinction was awarded for the first time in Los Cabos in October of this year, honoring the work and culinary excellence of “Tres Sirenas” and “Edith’s Restaurant” of businesswoman Edith Jimenez Moreno. However, it didn’t take long for Don Sanchez Restaurant to be awarded as well.
Other award winners include Ernesto Laccarino of Don Alfonso 1890 restaurant in Italy, Franco Nuschese of Cafe Milano in Washington, DC, Albin Gobbi with his French restaurant Gaddi’s in Hong Kong, and Per Sé of Thomas Keller in New York.
