50 thousand mango plants will be planted in La Paz

During a visit to the Vegetative Propagation Center (CEPROVEG), the head of the Secretariat of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Agricultural Development (SEPADA), José Alfredo Bermúdez Beltrán, announced that a fruit reconversion project will be implemented in the municipalities of La Paz and Los Cabos.

The state official mentioned that, as one of the first actions, 50 thousand mango plants will be dispersed in the aforementioned municipalities; likewise, he commented that this strategy also contemplates the distribution of guava plants, which in due course, will be granted in support of communities with characteristics for this crop.

He pointed out that once the mango plants are distributed in the areas of Los Cabos and La Paz, in parallel actions will be promoted for the installation of pressurized drip irrigation systems, as well as agronomic processes required by this type of crop, mainly for the export market, so it is essential to remain free of diseases such as fruit fly.
