In the men’s final, the U.S. duo of Cory Evans and William Kolinsk defeated Mexico’s Juan Virgen and Miguel Sarabia to win the gold medal.
Kaytlin Malaney and Carly Kan of the United States came from behind to beat Maria Gonzalez and Allanis Navas in a heart-stopping fashion and win the gold medal.
The men’s bronze medal was won by Puerto Rico with Kevin Gutiérrez and Josué Rivera who started losing in the first set 16-21 against the Canadian duo of Alex Russell and Jake McNeil.
For the women’s third place, Mexico’s Atenas Gutiérrez and María Quintero defeated the United States’ Megan Gebhard and Savannah Simon to win the bronze medal.
At the conclusion of the matches, the awards ceremony was conducted by the director of the Southcalifornian Sports Institute (INSUDE), Gilberto Garciglia Higuera; the State Director of Physical Education, Carlos Quintana and the president of the Southcalifornian Volleyball Association, Nubia Barraza.
