During the development of this work, the 22 Blue Flag beaches are supervised to ensure that they comply with the 33 criterias.
Representatives of Blue Flag Mexico and the personnel of the Municipal Coordination of the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) carry out the corresponding audit procedures.
The municipal coordinator of Zofemat informed that the evaluations began on May 18 at La Gaviota, El Surgidero and La Ribera beaches, while on May 19, the verifications continued at Acapulquito and Palmilla beaches. On May 20 it was the turn of El Chileno, Santa María and Las Viudas.
On May 21 and 22, the processes consisted of documentary and administrative reviews, resuming the verifications on May 23 at the beaches of Médano Riu Palace, Médano Riu Santa Fe, Médano Villas del Palmar, Médano Villa La Estancia and Médano Villas del Arco.
They evaluated 4 categories: environmental information and education, water quality, environmental management, as well as safety and services.
