In 2021 alone, Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) invested 100 million pesos in the expansion and modernization of the La Paz International Airport.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP) has a budget of 300 million pesos for the expansion and modernization of the La Paz International Airport; by 2021, more than 100 million pesos have already been invested, informed Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).

“We implemented state-of-the-art equipment that provides security to flights and comfort to passengers, as manual checks have become a thing of the past with specialized checks in which passengers’ bags are not opened,” said La Paz International Airport Administrator Paola Olivo Moreno.

Some of the most important works were on the apron, projects to comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and equipment to optimize security and airport operations, such as the Baggage Classification System, which will check all checked baggage through X-rays.

“We must remember that they are machines and that in the end they will always need a human being to watch over their operation. We do not foresee any staff cuts,” she added.
