Baja California Sur is distinguished mainly in sun and beach tourism, so in the framework of the Tianguis Turístico de Mérida 2021, Balandra received recognition as the best beach in the country by the digital platform “México Desconocido”, said the Secretary of Tourism, Economy and Sustainability (Setues) of the State Government, Maribel Collins Sánchez.
The society, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Associations and the three levels of government, are an important part for the beaches of the State to continue being positioned among the best in the country, the care and cleanliness of these, is a coordinated work that allows to achieve these results, he said after receiving this recognition.
“We are very happy, because in the framework of the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turístico in Mérida, Yucatán, “México Desconocido” through the federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, awarded the prize “Best of Mexico” in the category of beaches, to Balandra” he commented.
Maribel Collins, recalled that currently the mid-Peninsula has distinguished itself by achieving the highest number of beaches with the Blue Flag, with 23 beaches that have this international award; this flag is awarded for having the highest standards worldwide in education, information and environmental management, water quality, safety and services.
He pointed out that Balandra Beach is one of the favorite beaches for visitors who come to the capital of Southern California, “so we must all continue to preserve this natural beauty that has been recognized as a natural heritage site by UNESCO since 2012”.
