The Undersecretary of Public Security of the State announced the implementation of a pilot program for the reactivation of family visits in the four penitentiary centers of the state, which will only allow the entry of one family member per inmate.
This program will begin on February 24 for family visits, for which family members who wish to enter must bring their vaccination certificate certifying that they have their complete vaccination schedule, or at least two doses; if they do not have this documentation, they will have to bring a negative PCR test, within 48 hours.
Two years ago, when the pandemic began, family visits were suspended. Now that the number of infections has decreased and most of the population has been vaccinated, it has been decided, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, to reactivate the visits in the prisons of the entity.
It was also announced that in order to reduce the risk of contagion, this process will be carried out to see the behavior shown, leaving a 15-day rest period; depending on the results of this pilot plan, the family visit will be reactivated as it was previously done.
